It is important to keep your dogs ears clean and free from infection, particularly dogs with drop ears. When checking your dogs ears they should be a light pink colour with little or no wax build up or smell. You should be mindful if they are red, swollen, weeping, have a strong smell or they are shaking or scratching as lot as this could mean they have an infection and may need Veterinary attention.
There are lots of products to clean your dogs ears. I would advise using a liquid ear cleaner or olive oil on a cotton pad to wipe the inside of your dog ears. Make sure to use separate pads for each ear and not to press too deep inside the ear.
